I've heard from some people who wonder why I don't give detailed descriptions of characters. I do that purposely, and for one reason: I can never describe a character as well as you can imagine her. I prefer to use a few broad strokes, and let your imagination fill in the rest.

I realize there are authors out there who are very detailed in their descriptions. Nothing wrong with that at all. It's a stylistic decision, and I love many authors who describe their characters at length. I'm just not one of them.
