MISCELLANEOUS FAQ

ARE THERE ANY AUTHORS YOU PARTICULARLY ADMIRE?

Plenty. Stephen King has always had the biggest influence on my own writing; It remains my favorite by him, followed closely by The Stand and The Dead Zone. I love mysteries and thrillers; some of my favorite authors in the genre include F. Paul Wilson (the "Repairman Jack" series), Lee Child, CJ Box, Michael Prescott, Elmore Leonard, John Connolly and James Lee Burke. I've loved Stephen Woodworth's "Violet Eyes" books. In the CBA, I'm fond of Athol Dickson, Brandilyn Collins, Melanie Wells, Tim Downs, Kathryn Mackel, Chris Well, Creston Mapes, Eric Wilson, Robert Liparulo, Frank Peretti, Ted Dekker; Robin Parrish and others. I've begun to collect recent reads online at the addictive LibraryThing site; see a few random authors and books from my recent reading below.

WHAT MUSIC ARE YOU LISTENING TO?

Glad you asked; music is a huge part of the writing process for me--during composition and editing. I love the Pixies, Better Than Ezra, Wilco, the Fountains of Wayne, Weezer, as well as the praise music of Hillsong, Rich Mullins, Mars Hill Worship and David Crowder Band. I listen to Seattle's KEXP a lot on iTunes, and have discovered a lot of music I love in the last year or so: the Delays, Silversun Pickups, Ladytron and the National come to mind. You can also find links to some of my favorite artists at my Mighty List o' Links.

WHAT KIND OF POP/SODA/COKE (DEPENDING ON YOUR REGION) DO YOU DRINK?

Diet Dr. Pepper, baby. So good, it doesn't taste like diet.
